The Lady Tigers are coming into the new 2022 season ready to go. “Our motto this year is to be tenacious and intentional with every play,” said head coach Marki Dethloff. Ardmore begins the season splitting two home and away games before an early season test at the Tishomingo Tournament in late August.
Daliyah Quiroz (SS) is VYPE Top 100 Nominee and looks forward to the season ahead. “What I enjoy the most about softball is the friendships I have made and how competitive softball is while competing against other teams. My expectations for myself are to be a leader and to do the best I can do every time I’m on the field and always have a positive mindset,” Quiroz said. “My expectation for the team is to hold one another accountable, be confident in each other, and battle every game this season.” Quiroz looks to have a productive year and hopes for an opportunity to continue her softball career at the collegiate level.
Underclassmen Addison Wolf (So.) is a cerebral player who is patient at the plate and knows the game well. Wolf can play multiple positions on defense and is a great team player according to coaches. Wolf is expected to have a great sophomore campaign after being a solid contributor in her freshman season. Bree Coronado is the team’s biggest “hype man.” Coronado loves to cheer on her team and communicate while on the field. “She really takes our team to a new level and plays with fierce intensity,” said Dethloff. Coronado is a vocal leader on defense and knows how to rally her teammates. Also look for Camille Gurrola who coaches say is a bright light wherever she is. Whether on the field, in the dugout, or even the batting cages at practice she brings positive energy. Gurrola loves helping and doing whatever is asked of her.
