Ardmore’s Delilah Roberts Athlete Spotlight Sponsored by Aesthetic Solutions

By Jayden Oyler
Delilah Roberts, a nominee for Vype Softball MVP, is a senior at Ardmore High School. Sports have been a major part of Roberts life and have taught her many life lessons. “Sports have taught me to never quit and to stay disciplined,” Roberts said. “They have taught me it’s all worth it in the end.”

Throughout high school she has played softball and ran track. She says one of her most accomplishments she is most proud of is when her school won state in track, “it felt like I was in a movie.”
When asked about representing her school, Roberts clearly loves being a part of Ardmore High School. “I love explaining to people it’s all love that comes from being a part of the Tiger family.” She went on to say, “From the teachers to the families, it’s all love and they will always make sure to never let you forget that they will always be there no matter what.”

Roberts is disciplined on the field, and in the classroom. She is currently involved in the Upward Bound program, where she spent a large portion of her summer on the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Campus attending college courses for credit. She is also enrolled in the Medical Assisting program at Southern Tech and is excited about the potential to help others upon completion.

When asked who her favorite teacher is, she responded Mrs. Howell, because “she had me so much with school and life.” Her track coach, Destinee Allen continuously inspires her.
Her grandmother, Joyce Royal, has played a major role in her life, along with her stepfather Eddie Royal. “I wouldn’t be the person I am today without them” Roberts said. “They have done so much for me I would never have enough money in the world to pay them back for all they have done by teaching me what it means to be the loving, caring person that I am today.”
