Success is something that is not just handed out to everyone. Instead, there is a lot of time and dedication that is involved. Celeste Greer says that no matter what is going on, you have to be willing to do what needs to be done if you want to be your best.
“In order to be successful in sports, I have had to put in a lot of work through all circumstances,” she said. “Whether it’s too hot, too cold, raining, hurt, or just simply not in a good mood. I always try to work hard.”
Greer is a junior at Ardmore High School where she is a member of the tennis and cheer teams. She is also involved in the National Honor Society and Leaflets.
Throughout her life, Celeste has had a number of people that have been influential in her life and helped her become who she is.
“My biggest role model is my mom,” she stated. “She is strong and gets through everything. Also, a teacher that has had the biggest influence on my life is Debra Fields. She is very smart and always has a positive attitude. She taught me basic things for life in first grade and she has kept off with my well-being ever since. She lets me know that someone will always care for me.”
Greer has enjoyed some great moments during her career, but she says that there are a couple that stand out.
“I think the highlight moment of my career has been making it to state,” she recalled. “Also, anytime we beat Tecumseh is something that I always enjoy. They are a very good team and it takes a lot of effort to win against them.”
Whenever she competes and wears the Ardmore uniform, Celeste says that it is something that is special.
“I think representing my school is very important,” Greer said. “I have gone to Ardmore schools my whole life, so to grow older and carry a position in sports for Ardmore is an amazing feeling.”
