Ardmore’s Ryan Cavazos – Presented by Henry Roberts Pharmacy

9Qs with Ardmore’s Ryan Cavazos

VYPE recently sat down with Ardmore High School senior Ryan Cavazos to learn a little more about him.

VYPE: Ryan, let’s start here, what sports do you play?

Ryan: I’ve been a part of the Ardmore varsity tennis team for four years now.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Ryan: Tennis has taught me patience, perseverance & teamwork.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Ryan: Being a part of a team means having someone to count on & trust and vice versa.

VYPE: When did you first get into playing your sport and why have you stuck with it for solong?

Ryan: I started playing during the summer of my 8th grade year decided to join with my friends and however, was only able to play a few months before COVID. When I started, I did not know anything about Tennis. But when I started, it quickly taught me that I am great at Tennis & can play for years to come.

VYPE:What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?

Ryan: My favorite part about representing Ardmore High School is that other schools & players recognize us & know that we’ll be a challenge on the courts!

VYPE:What has been your favorite memory of playing?

Ryan: My favorite memory is my first year at State with my teammates. We got together in our hotel room & played games.

VYPE: Who do you look up to and why?

Ryan: I look up to several professional athletes in different sports that give back to their community and serve as mentors for others. I tennis, I really look up to Tommy Paul. But I also have to say that I’m inspired by my father, Amado Cavazos, because he works hard for his family, supports us & believes in me.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Ryan: I’d go back to my old hometown where my Grandmother lives and take my entire family. We love to visit back home where most of my family still lives.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

Ryan: Shoutout to my parents and sisters that supported me. Thank You for believing in me and cheering me on!
