Ardmore’s Daemon Cohee Athlete Spotlight Presented by Carter County Farm Bureau

“Sports have taught me that whatever you want to do in life, you have to work for and don’t take it for granted.” A great quote from Daemon Cohee, a sophomore at Ardmore High School. Daemon participates in weightlifting and football, and says that to be a great athlete, you have to have leadership and discipline. After playing football for the last eight years, he’s got the experience to back that advice up.

Daemon’s biggest positive impact is his dad, because “he shows me right from wrong, and helps me get through whatever I need help with,” he says. His favorite subject is math, because it’s an example of being disciplined. “You have to pay attention and work hard to get a good grade,” Daemon says. His favorite teacher is Coach Gresham, “he teaches history and helps me understand it and why we need to learn about our history,” he says. Daemons biggest role model is Julio Jones, a wide receiver for the University of Alabama, because “he isn’t scared to make mistakes and he always learns from them, making him a great football player,” he says.

His personal highest moment was scoring against his rival team, the Ada Cougars. His favorite sports moment was when his team won their first and last games of the season, proving that they can be good, they just to work hard. In his free time, Daemon likes to hang out with friends, play football, and play video games. His plans after high school are to pursue football at the collegiate level, or study business to possibly start his own one day.

His favorite part about football is that if you work hard enough, you can win, and still have fun doing what you love. His dad is what keeps him going when things get tough. Daemon says “my dad keeps me motivated and he helps me when sports or anything gets tough in life. He tells me to learn from my mistakes and don’t just let one bad thing bring you down.”
