Throughout an athlete’s career, they work hard to achieve the goals they have set for themselves. Whether they are big goals or not, it is always a great feeling when they are reached. Antoinette Gresham is an athlete at Ardmore High School and she has a couple of big moments in her career.
“I think the highlight of my career would have to be when I qualified for finals in the 100 meter hurdles,” she recalled. “Also, being the only freshman to qualify in the 100 meter dash at state in 2022.”
Gresham is a senior at Ardmore. As a member of the track and field team, she competes in the 300 meter hurdles and the 100 meter hurdles. Outside of her sports, she is also a member of the National Honor Society, the National Technical Honor Society, and the National Society of High School Scholars.
Throughout her life, there have been different people that have had an influence on Gresham’s life.
“The Lord is my biggest role model,” she stated. “A teacher that has impacted my life was my freshman Life Skills teacher and track coach, Mrs. Allen. She taught me to push myself and to have more confidence on the track.”
Antoinette has worked hard to be at her best when she competes. She knows it takes a lot of work in order to get where she wants to be.
“To be successful at track, you have to train all year long,” she said. “”One thing that keeps me motivated to work is the idea of being able to win state.”
Wearing the Ardmore uniform when she runs is something that Gresham is proud to be able to do.
“To play for Ardmore High School allows me to show the pride I have in my community,” she said.
