From the first time Jaedyn Swindall laced up her cleats at just four years old, she knew soccer would be more than just a game, it would become a cornerstone of who she is. Now a senior at Ardmore High School, Jaedyn stands out as a multi-sport athlete, competing in soccer, track, and powerlifting. On the soccer field, she dominates as a striker and midfielder, leading her team with both skill and heart.
For the past three seasons, Jaedyn has worn the captain’s armband, a symbol of her leadership and unwavering commitment. One of her favorite moments came when she sank a free kick from 35 yards out, an unforgettable highlight that showcased her precision and confidence. Yet, behind every success lies countless hours of determination, hard work, and the guidance of those who have supported her along the way.
Her father is her greatest motivator, always pushing her to do her best and setting the example she strives to follow. Among the teachers who have made an impact, Miss Coach Emery, Ardmore’s art teacher, holds a special place in Jaedyn’s journey. “She’s always there to listen,” Jaedyn says, crediting her for teaching lessons that extend far beyond the classroom.
Jaedyn also values the relationships built on the field. Her favorite opponent to face is Madill, the rivalry is fierce, and the energy from both communities makes every match electric. In practice, she often pairs with teammate Journey Sampson, whose defensive grit pushes Jaedyn to elevate her game. And when considering the most underrated player, Jaedyn immediately mentions Gabby Huerta, whose positivity and work ethic inspire the team.
Representing Ardmore means everything to Jaedyn. She plays not only for herself but for her community, hoping to reshape how others see her hometown. “I want to show people what it’s like to be from Ardmore,” she says. “To prove that we can rise above negativity and inspire others to do the same.”
