Ardmore High School senior Mya Harris is more than just a softball player. Harris is a
member of the cheer squad, STUCO, National Honor Society, and NHSS.
Harris said being part of two sports is great and her teammates are some of her closest
friends.
“I love that my teammates are also my closest friends. I have been playing with these girls
since Y-League and our dynamic has only gotten stronger. We know the importance of
holding each other accountable and being there for one another. There was a morning,
where a girl forgot to set her alarm for a game so the whole team showed up at her house.
It’s little things like that, that make a difference in a team,” said Harris.
The senior said the softball program at Ardmore HS has the best coaches and atmosphere
anyone could want.
“I love being a part of the softball program at Ardmore High School because of my coaches.
It’s important to have a coach that doesn’t only know and love the game, but truly knows
and loves their team and I think at AHS we have that,” said Harris.
Life after high school will include attending college and Harris said she has her mother to
thank for always supporting her.
“I would say my mom has been the biggest influence in my life. I feel like she has obeyed
the Lord in how to faithfully be my mother. I’m so thankful for her guidance, she has
shaped me into the person I am today and will be tomorrow. After I graduate, I would like
to attend the University of Oklahoma to become a physical therapist,” said Harris.
