2020 Record: 4-4
Offense
Even with a 4-4 record last year, the Ardmore Tigers were able to advance to the second round of the Class 5A playoffs, before being knocked out by eventual state champion Carl Albert. Ardmore head coach, Josh Newby, says that his squad has given him a lot of hope this offseason.
“The attitude and effort in our offseason have been tremendous,” said Newby. “When you have those qualities in your locker room, it gives you a lot of hope for your season. The kids and coaches are looking forward to the opportunity to compete this fall.”
Returning to lead the Tiger offense will be quarterback Cal Swanson (6-3, 180, Jr.), a player that Newby thinks is a special talent. “Cal is a great leader for our team,” he said. “His arm talent makes him a special player. He has a chance to be one of the best to ever come through here.”
Joining Swanson in the backfield will be tailback Antone Scallion (6-0, 215, Sr.), who looks to make a big impact this year. The Tigers also have numerous guys back to catch the ball. Jalen Reed (6-2, 175, Sr.) and Dakaree Scott (6-0, 175, Sr.) will both be lined up at wide receiver, while Ricky Smith (5-9, 155, Sr) will play at slot receiver. Jackson Hedger (6-1, 210, Sr.) will play tight end.
