“Ally is a 5’11” junior post and will back up our post positions this year. She is a great student, player, and even better teammate.” -Head Coach Debra Manley
VYPE: Ally, what does your team and teammates mean to you?
Potts: My team and teammates mean everything to me. I have been playing basketball since I was in second grade, so to be on my high school team is a dream come true. I have improved so much over the last few years, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without my teammates. They have encouraged me and played by my side, and I am so thankful for them.
VYPE: When you hear coach Manley call you the unsung hero, what does that mean to you and how do you define that term?
Potts: To me, being an unsung hero is being someone who works hard and puts in effort behind the scenes that they may not get credit for. I think that everyone on our team is an unsung hero in some way, but for me personally, I know how much time and effort I put into basketball on and off the court, and I am proud to be seen as that person for our team. There have been a lot of blood, sweat, and tears poured into this team, and to see it start to pay off is very rewarding.
VYPE: What grade are you in and what are your plans after you graduate?
Potts: I am a junior this year, and my plans after high school are to go to college and either become a coach or a sports journalist.
