Isaac Riddle is a senior at Ardmore High School. Isaac is involved in Football, Baseball, NHS, and FCA. He’s been selected as the Lions Club Student of the Month and nominated for the Best of the Arbuckles. He got his start in sports from his uncles. Isaac began watching them play at a very young age, even getting to see one of them make it to All-State and play in college. He’s now been playing baseball for 12 years and his favorite part about the sport is the challenge every time he steps into the batter’s box.
His biggest positive impacts have been his family. “They taught me how to live a Godly life and how by trusting in Him I can be the very best version of myself,” he says. His biggest role model is Andrew from the Bible, because every time he is mentioned, he’s bringing someone to Christ.
Isaac’s favorite subject in school is math, because it’s always come easy to him and he loves being able to figure out what the end product is. His favorite teacher is his uncle, Coach Josiah Custar. Isaac says “He is my favorite because he was always there when I had a question about life and God. He always went the second mile to help me with whatever I needed.” After high school, Isaac plans to go to Murray State and walk-on for baseball, with an end goal of taking his baseball career as far as he can go.
Sports have taught Isaac never to give up when when something doesn’t go his way and to learn from his mistakes. To him, being a great athlete takes hard work, determination, and to never back down from a challenge. His advice to other athletes is to enjoy the time that you have with the people around you and to never give up on the goals that you set in front of you.
