Ardmore’s Jamane Stubblefield II – Football Spotlight – Presented by Potrillos Mexican Restaurant

There are people in each of our lives who have an impact and help shape us into the person we will become. They could be someone that we observe from a distance like a celebrity or professional athlete, but for Jamane Stubblefield II, it is someone a little closer to home.

“My biggest role model is my grandpa, Kelly Stubblefield,” he said. “He has been threw so much stuff and he still keeps pushing through it all.”

Jamane is a sophomore at Ardmore High School, where he is a member of the football, basketball, and track teams. He is proud to wear the Ardmore uniform anytime he competes, because he knows that he is playing for more than just himself.

“It means a lot to represent my school and community,” he said. “Representing my school and community is meaningful because it’s a chance to give back, show pride, and make a positive impact on the youth like players did to me when i was young. I think the highlight moment of my career is when I scored my first varsity touchdown. I think that was probably one of the happiest moments of my life.”

In order to be the best athlete that he can be when he steps on the field, court, or track, Jamane knows that he has to make a big investment.

“It has taken a lot of hard work to get where I am,” he said. “Not just the work you do in front of the coaches, but also what you do behind the scenes. I am motivated by the pursuit to improve my self-improvement and personal growth.”

When he and his teammates show up on game day, they are ready to compete against whoever is on the other sideline. But Jamane does have one team in particular that he enjoys getting a win against.

“The opponent I love beating the most are those Ada Cougars,” he stated. “They’ve always been our rivals since I was a young boy.”
