Ardmore’s Kaziah Andrews – Football Spotlight – Presented by Express Pharmacy

At Ardmore High School, junior Kaziah Andrews is a multi-sport athlete who brings determination, faith, and grit to everything he does. Competing in football, track, and powerlifting, Kaziah knows what it takes to push through challenges and stay focused on his goals.

For him, the motivation to keep going comes from home. “What motivates me to keep going is when I see my single mother work hard and come home late for her three kids over and over again and never complain, not once,” Kaziah said. Her example of strength and perseverance has shaped the way he approaches life and athletics.

Kaziah also draws guidance from his biggest influences, his mom, his aunt Calline, Coach Newby, and his faith in God. “They stay consistent in my life when I need them the most, whether it’s on the football field or a personal matter,” he explained.

On the field, Kaziah credits Coach Coley as the coach who has had the biggest impact on him. “He’s always been there, and he puts a lot of trust into me,” Kaziah said. That trust helped him transition into a new role, with the highlight moment of his career being his position change to cornerback, where he has thrived.

When it comes to competition, Kaziah loves facing Ada High School, calling them the biggest rivalry for Ardmore. In practice, he sharpens his skills by going up against teammates Jajuan Lee and Tyson Laster. “It’s never an easy rep with either of them,” he said.

Success in sports hasn’t come easily, it has taken “time, consistency, hard work, and trust,” according to Kaziah. Balancing athletics and school requires the same mindset. “It takes rest and a strong mind,” he said. His favorite source of daily inspiration is the Bible app, which often delivers a verse just when he needs it most.

To Kaziah, representing Ardmore is an honor. “It means more to me than a lot of things, and those things keep me pushing,” he said.

With his drive, faith, and appreciation for those who support him, Andrews is building a legacy at Ardmore that reflects both his character and his athletic talent.
