Talin Harger, an 11th grader at Ardmore High School, has built a reputation as a dedicated student-athlete who gives his all both on and off the field. A key player for the Ardmore Tigers baseball team, Talin splits his responsibilities between pitching and playing second base, two positions that require focus, precision, and composure under pressure.
Motivated daily by his parents and coaches, Talin says his mom and dad have been his biggest influences. “They raised me to be a good human and to never give up on my dreams,” he says. His coach, known simply as Coach T, also plays a crucial role in shaping his athletic journey by pushing him to become the best version of himself every day.
That encouragement has paid off. Talin’s dedication and relentless work ethic have fueled his success, leading to one of the proudest moments of his career, pitching his first high school no-hitter. He says that moment reminded him how far hard work and belief can take you.
In practice, Talin enjoys competing with teammate Gio Mendosa, who consistently challenges him to improve. He also admires Evan Hamilton, a teammate he describes as “hardworking but underappreciated.” To Talin, every player’s effort matters, no matter who earns the spotlight.
Beyond baseball, Talin packs his schedule with a wide range of campus activities. He’s involved in band, Sparks, Robotics, CTS, ACE, quiz bowl, and the Native American Club, demonstrating his commitment to both school spirit and personal growth. Balancing this busy schedule takes focus, time management, and a strong support system, but Talin embraces it all.
When he steps on the field, Talin feels immense pride representing Ardmore. “Win or lose, I still wear Ardmore across my chest,” he says. “It means my attitude matters, and younger kids are watching how I carry myself.”
Looking ahead, Talin hopes to continue his baseball career in college, inspired by professional pitcher Gerrit Cole, his favorite athlete to follow and a model of discipline and technique. With his drive, heart, and humility, there’s no doubt Talin Harger will keep making Ardmore proud.
