Getting to know Ardmore High School’s Aalicia (Arizona) Mitchell

VYPE: What are your goals for yourself and your team?

Arizona: My goal for my team is to grow our chemistry together and become a bigger family then what we are now. My personal goal is to push myself and build my confidence on and off the pitch.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

Arizona: The most fun I had this year was going out to eat with the team after our games.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade or coach and why?

Arizona: Ms. Ryan, my fourth grade teacher, she showed me that no matter what you always have confidence in yourself and do everything to the best of your ability.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

Arizona: My favorite athletic memory was when I was five years old I scored my very first goal against the hardest team in our league, even though we’re down by 12 I still managed to score a goal.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Arizona: Ashley M. She is one of my closest friends I have today. She graduated from Ardmore high in 2019 she was the first soccer player to sign to a college and she has made a big impact on my life on and off the pitch.

VYPE: Who on your team has the best impression of your coach and who says the funniest things during games?

Arizona: Ava Manning is the funniest on the soccer team when she’s not there it’s so quiet, she keeps us on our toes and full of laughs.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Arizona: Bora bora, I would take my family and friends.

VYPE: If we gave you $500 dollars and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, how would you spend it?

Arizona: I would buy groceries for my grandparents and pay their electric bill. They need it more than I do.

VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.

Arizona: I would like to say thank you to my mom Kathy, she has done so much for me and more. She is the reason I am who I am today. I would love to be at least half as strong as her.
