Family Comes First for DeMarcus Smith – Presented by RibCrib

VYPE: What are your goals for yourself and your team this season?

DeMarcus: The goals that I have for myself are to always do everything in my life for God and to push my limits to not only improve myself, but the people around me.  The goals I have for my team are to succeed, but to succeed as a team and not individually.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

DeMarcus: The most fun I’ve had in the last year was spending this last summer with my family.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade or coach and why?

DeMarcus: My favorite teacher is Coach Birth from my junior year of high school. Coach Birth taught Ap U.S. History and he made history so fun because he was so passionate about what he taught and really helped to get every detail across to me in a way that was relatable yet detailed.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

DeMarcus: My favorite athletic memory was during my little league days when I made a diving catch in outfield to win the game for my team.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

DeMarcus: I wouldn’t say that just one teammate has left an impression on me: in some way all of them have given different perspectives on things and expanded my way of thinking.

VYPE: Who on your team has the best impression of your coach and who says the funniest things during games?

DeMarcus: I’d say that my teammate Isaiah Hernandez does the best impression of my coach and say the funniest things during games.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

DeMarcus: If I could go on a summer vacation, I would go to Hawaii and I would take my mom, dad, sister, grandma, and some of my close friends.

VYPE: If we gave you $500 dollars and had to spend it in the next 24 hours, how would you spend it?

DeMarcus: Would spend the money on my family because they have done so much for me and I would want to give back to them.

VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.

DeMarcus: Thank you God, Mom, Dad, Sissy, Nana, and many more of my family and friends. Thank you for loving me, supporting me, pushing me to be the best I can be, and giving me a place to come back to when I feel unsure about something or need advice. I love all of you and I always will.
